Where to go for a trip in Prague?
There is no time to be bored in Prague. Historical monuments, educational paths, entertaining parks, shops and restaurants can be aim of your family trip which can be never-ending. Especially in case you travel on four wheels. Using a car you manage to explore almost the whole city during one weekend. You should not forget a camera, tourist´s diary and good mood, of course. Well, where to go for a trip in Prague?
Experience Prague like from a postcard
Have you been to Prague for the first time? Visit historical places which are world – famous thanks to postcards. You must see them with your own eyes. And therefore go for a walk on Charles´ Bridge, 515 m long, where you can see 31 sculptures of significant people. Do not forget to enjoy atmosphere of the Old Town Square, take a selfie at the Powder Tower, stroll through the Jewish Town and you can say a loud “Wow“ on the lookout of Petrin. We recommend to buy a guide map which helps you not to miss a monument in the city. Moreover, you can have them all along your way.
Where to leave a car? If you decide to leave the car somewhere and go on foot through the main parts of Prague, be careful and watch out for designation of car parks. Most of them are paid for and sometimes prices are high. You could be surprised coming back from your walk by the price you should pay. We recommend to know before the journey where and for what price it is possible to park the car during your trip. This way you can avoid unpleasant surprise and long searching for the right car park.
What children must not miss? Water slides, chocolates and planes
Historical buildings and ancient atmosphere of the capital of Prague is fine but to tell the truth it is not enough to entertain children during the whole weekend. Therefore you should promise them more of adventure after sightseeing. “Tobogana Fantasy”, centre for children with water slides, for example. You will find there not only slides but also ropes and corners for kids. Centre inspired by child´s fantasy is in Prague 5, Zlicin in Avion shopping park. Good news is that parking is free. You can hide here from rain or hot sun beams.
Do your children like chocolate? Then do not miss visiting the museum of chocolate “Chocolate Story Praha” where you will find interesting information about sweets we all love so much. You can sweeten your day on the address: Celetna 10, Praha 1.
And when your mouth is clean hurry up to watch airplanes. “Airport Letnany” welcomes all visitors who want to see planes in the air or on the ground. It is not possible to enter the airport for safety reasons, of course. However you can visit a view tower where you can refresh yourself and you have a perfect view on the area of the airport. You can also visit “ The Aerial Museum”, a- 15 min. - walk from the airport, where entrance is free of charge and you can enjoy exhibition of unique air crafts. You can combine this trip with “Off road circuit” where you will try to go across hurdles by car.
Combine fun with science!
Science can be fun on the trip. Show your children that it can happen and take them for example to
“Stefanik´s Observatory”. You can observe the sky with big telescopes and do various astrological experiments. Then you can go to the World of stones. In the gallery “Geoworld” in Prague, there you will learn what you did not know about stones and how a pearl is born. And then go to meet famous people who got together in one place - “Waxmuseum” in Prague.
Nature in Prague
It may sound strange but you can find also nature in Prague. Even the historical city full of noise can offer you a piece of pure nature. Visit for example “Garden Park Jeneč u Prahy” and enjoy beautiful flowers, artificial streams and waterfalls and relax in a silent corner of the park. You will get energy for another trip, e.g. to Dolni Pocernice – educational path. There are 21 stops and it is 3 km long. The whole family can also relax in “Dalejske udoli(valley)” or “Prokopske udoli ( valley)”.
